Arnott’s encourages people to put the phone down and reconnect over a biscuit
Arnott’s Biscuits has urged people to come together and celebrate the “moments for which there is no substitute” with biscuits that are “made to share”.
In a one-minute ad created by TKT, Arnott’s features families and friends surfing, jumping in a pool, having tea, going on a road trip and going out together.
The ad is backed by a voice over which begins the commercial by saying “When did life get so busy? When did we get more interested in pixels than people and lose sight of the little things around us?”
A 30-second ad has also been created with a young couple feeding each other scotch fingers on the couch while their baby sleeps.
Both ads use the tagline “Arnott’s. There is no substitute”.
I feel bad for TKT, being briefed to do such mediocre work…

Planning/Client combo gone mad.
The VO obviously repeats every tired “insight” verbatim from the brief.
And the line couldn’t have any less charm.

There is only ONE thing in this ad that vaguely resonates with me – “There is no substitute”.
What a god-awful take on Chisel’s Forever Now. Given the calibre of the music the biscuits must taste like shit.

I love it! However it does reminds me of the Telstra “Thrive” ad – Both have an iconic Aussie song, modern Aussie male VO and a claim that they bring people together one way or another – Arnotts with biscuits, Telstra with pixels

Cliche, over used insight. Arnotts seems to go from bad to worse. There was the Shapes fiasco.. feels like it’s in desperate need of an overhaul. Not sure what the issue is here, agency or client or both.
