ARN’s The Edge appoints Emily Copeland as general manager

ARN’s commercial hip hop and RnB station The Edge has appointed Emily Copeland to the newly created role of general manager.

Earlier this week ARN rebranded from Australian Radio Network to ARN.

The announcement:

Sydney’s #1 commercial DAB+ hip hop and RnB station and proven launchpad for new music and artists, The Edge has welcomed creative culture and brand partnerships expert Emily Copeland to the newly created role of General Manager.

Emily brings an awesome mix of skills and experience to The Edge, including cross-platform media content experience, partnerships and events (including music festivals – remember those?). Emily also has a stack of achievements to her name which include launching FBi Radio and a successful music marketing and partnership business which has seen her work with Australian artists including Lime Cordiale, Sheppard, Mia Rodriguez and Anna Lunoe.

Welcoming Emily, ARN’s CEO Ciaran Davis said, “The Edge has an unrivalled connection to young audiences in greater-western Sydney and the brand has incredible potential for expansion and growth in Australia’s contemporary youth space. I’m so pleased to welcome Emily to ARN, her diverse range of experience and expertise makes her uniquely perfect for this exciting next stage of the brand, and I am looking forward to seeing her achieve great things with The Edge team.”

On joining ARN, Emily Copeland said, “I’m so excited to join The Edge as General Manager at such a pivotal time. We have a rare opportunity to accelerate The Edge as a youth brand anchored in hip hop and RnB, driven by content, and reflective of an under-served genre of youth culture in commercial radio. Radio plays an ongoing influential role in the audio landscape and I’m looking forward to working with the Australian music industry to create a platform which will support artists, labels and promoters, while building a community of passionate music fans.”

Emily began her new role to take The Edge to the next level this week and reports to Michael Harvey, ARN’s Chief Operating Officer. She has a ton of exciting things planned that we’re not going to reveal yet, but for starters she’ll be working with Mike E & Emma and all THE EDGE team and injecting some fresh, strategic energy into the brand. Watch this space.
