Arts sector media organisation ArtsHub has launched a new monthly podcast – The ArtsHubbub.

The announcement:

ARTSHUB LAUNCHES NEW PODCAST: THE ARTSHUBBUB

Arts sector news media organisation ArtsHub is launching a brand new podcast: The ArtsHubbub, an on-going monthly series that will give an in-depth view of Australian arts and artists.

The ArtsHubbub will provide the best of events across the literary, visual and performing arts, with interviews with artists, and explore creative ways to improve artist practice with the regular segment, The Nudge.

Episode one “Where do ideas come from?” explores how we come up with ideas, the best states to have more ideas and how to limit distraction.

The episode includes:
● Richard Watts talks with Christos Tsiolkas in his studio about how his work is
influenced by place, making a work space, and how Tsiolkas balances his creative life.
● The Nudge is a regular segment on creative practice and how to improve with this
month’s guests including visual artist Shags, musician/performer Chris Endry and
research psychologist Dr Maggie Webb on problem solving and ‘ah-ha’ moments.
● Plus a monthly wrap of what’s coming up in Australian arts.

Host George Dunford said of The ArtsHubbub, ‘We wanted to make a podcast that sounded like the ArtsHub office – an interesting discussion between people who live for the arts. The name actually came out of a member’s suggestion, but it feels like the right word to describe the chaotic conversation of an excited crowd.’

The ArtsHubbub is produced by Michelle Macklem, Richard Watts, Sabine Brix and George Dunford.

Launches, Monday 13 January 2020. Trailer available on Spotify, SoundCloud, iTunes. Subscribe via iTunes.
