Astrid Serventy set to depart Cannings Purple as director of government relations

Cannings Purples’ director of government relations, Astrid Serventy, has departed the PR agency.

Serventy joined the agency five years ago as an associate director and was promoted to director of government relations in 2017.

Temporarily replacing Serventy is Karen Brown, who will act as director of government relations.

Brown is currently the national director at Cannings Purple and will add acting director of government relations to her existing remit.

Warrick Hazeldine, managing director at Cannings Purple, said in a statement: “On the behalf of our board and management team I’d like to thank Astrid for her significant contributions to Cannings Purple and wish her luck in future endeavours.

“Karen Brown’s government relations credentials are outstanding, with experience as a senior policy and media adviser at state and federal levels and as a chief-of-staff to a federal minister.”

Meanwhile the agency has also made a raft of internal promotions, promoting Tim Grey-Smith  to associate director in the government relations team, Carina Tan-Van Baren has become an associate director of the health and aged care team, Jordin Payne is now a senior consultant on the corporate affairs team and David Mano is now a consultant in the government relations team.
