Atomic 212’s Lorraine Woods promoted to C-suite role, new trading lead announced
Atomic 212’s Lorraine Woods has been promoted to the newly-created role of chief investment and trading officer, effective immediately.
Woods has been a member of the agency since 2016 when she joined as national group trading director. During her time there, she was promoted to national head of trading,
Prior to Atomic 212, Woods held roles at Mediacom, Carat and ZenithOptimedia.
“Being at Atomic 212 from the very early days and helping to shape and grow it into what it is today has been such an exciting eight years and I feel very proud to be a part of,” Woods said.
“I look forward to continuing the success we have had and building out our investment product in line with our growth, now being Australia’s number one independent media agency [in terms of new business wins and retentions, according to COMvergence], with some of the industry’s most talented traders Alex Thomas and Jay Malig.”

The agency has also made a new appointment in former Carat and EssenceMediacom talent Alexandra Thomas, to take on Woods’ former role as national trading lead.
She joins after less than a year as EssenceMediacom’s marketplace group director. Prior to that, Thomas spent seven years in investment at dentsu’s Carat, with experience from Bohemia Group and Ikon Communications also under her belt.
“I’m proud to be joining Australia’s number one independent media agency and look forward to working with a really talented team,” she said of her appointment.
“I’m excited to bring my 15-plus years of trading experience – and passion – to support the continued growth of Atomic 212°’s investment product.”
Claire Fenner, national chief executive of the agency, congratulated Woods and described the promotion as a testament to her leadership and development of Atomic 212’s investment product.
She also celebrated Thomas’ appointment: “We’re excited to welcome Alex to the team to support the ever-growing trading function within our business.”
The changes come a month after Atomic 212 appointed a new general manager for its Melbourne office, Sylvia Pickering.
