Aus Post and Hogarth team up for heartwarming ‘Journeys’ docuseries

Australia Post and Hogarth have launched a series of short-form documentaries highlighting the stories of Australia post team members.

The series will roll out online and on broadcast television as part of a partnership with SBS, with the first episode set to go to air on Tuesday 25 October on Australia Uncovered on SBS.

Set in urban and regional communities across the country the series, ‘Journeys’, celebrates the contribution these individuals have made to their communities and the broader Australia Post team.

The series comprises five episodes which feature a variety of Australia Post team members, including Gary Williams, a former featherweight boxing champion with over 50 years’ experience working as a postie and Kylie Smith, a First Nations Gomeroi woman who relocated to Tennant Creek in the Northern Territory to run Australia’s most remote Post Office. Australia Post collaborated with Hogarth to deliver the strategic creative concept and production. The team worked with up-and-coming documentarist Adam Finney, whose work has been locally awarded for its honest but optimistic portraits, particularly of First Nation Australians.

The first episode focuses on a father and son living and working in Perth. Michael lives with disability, including hearing loss. When Michael was old enough to get a job, Greg knew having his son work alongside him could be a fantastic opportunity, not only for Michael, but also for his team and the broader Australia Post business.

Australia Post chief marketing officer Amber Collins said she was excited to share these stories with the community.

“Australia Post has such an extensive and dedicated team, all with their own unique journeys,” she said.

Hogarth Australia chief executive officer Justin Ricketts said he was thrilled to work on this momentous series to highlight Australia Post’s breadth, diversity and connection to the community.

“Australia Post is one of our most exciting client partnerships. We have built a successful relationship on delivering quality work against a broad range of executional content requirements. From this base, we have built the trust to respond strategically to more diverse briefs,” he said.
