Aussie exec appointed Uber’s global agency lead

An Australian executive at Uber has been named the ride-sharing giant’s new global agency lead.

Bec Morton, who has been the APAC agency lead for the past three years, takes on the dramatically expanded remit effectively immediately.

Morton will remain based in Sydney. She will work across Uber’s four key regions – APAC, Latin America, Europe/Middle East/Asia, and the US and Canada.

“I’m broadening my scope and remit out in light of the successes we’ve been seeing with our agency village thus far,” she told Mumbrella.

Morton’s impressive CV includes almost nine years at BMF, two at The Hallway, and four at Leo Burnett.

At Uber to date, she has worked predominantly with Special Group and “built a very strong relationship, which is seeing us produce brilliant work year-on-year”.
