Australia Post uses family footage of Christmas Day and staff opera singing to promote delivery services

Australia Post has used footage of families opening presents on Christmas Day to promote the company’s package delivery service.

Created by Y&R and Truce Melbourne, the 30 second commercial shows kids opening presents, brothers hugging each other and Australia Post staff delivering parcels.

Another 30 second commercial shows five opera singers dressed as Australia Post staff as they sing a rendition of ‘Deck the Halls’.

The singers change the words to “tis the season for convenience” and “sign yourself up for MyPost”.

Megan Hair, head of marketing, said in a statement: “Christmas is our busiest time of year so we wanted to focus our efforts entirely on our customers and our role within their lives. The creative work represents a great evolution of last year’s highly effective campaign and we’re thrilled with the results.”

Dentsu Mitchell were the media agency on the campaign.
