The Australian’s Geoff Elliott switches to PR with GRACosway
Australian’s former media editor and Washington correspondent Geoff Elliott has joined Clemenger Group’s newly merged corporate PR operation GRACosway as joint managing partner of its corporate and financial communications practice.
The move comes just a fortnight after Government Relations Australia and Cosway Australia merged.
Until the move, Elliott was business editor of The Australian.

“His experience in the midst of a technological revolution creating new ways to report and distribute content will provide GRACosway’s clients with unique insights to addressing complex communications challenges.”
Elliott will join Ben Wilson as joint managing partner for the corporate and financial communications practice .

Geoff was probably the best option if the oz wanted a real editor. His move is a sad but quite definite statement that follows a number of significant choices by other talents such as mega and Sally Jackson. It is a sinking ship in more says than one

Although I didn’t know Geoff personally, he seemed an exceptional journalist and exactly what the medium needed. I think it’s probably indicative of the state of play/salary/conditions in newspapers that guys of his talent are moving to the utter mediocrity and banality that is PR in Australia…
