Australia’s Young Lions finally get glory with medal for marketing

Aussie Young Lions Helen Luoung and Sirisha Pulapaka

Australia has finally been recognised with an award in the Young Lions competition in Cannes – in the marketing category.

The NSW Government’s Sirisha Pulapaka and Helen Luong, a marketer at Audi, claimed a silver medal in a field of 19 international teams.

The pair were tasked to produce a brief for an ad agency and present it to the jury.

Gold went to Portugal, bronze to Canada.

The judging panel consisted of Sarah Ivey, global comms planning director of Initiative, David Gallagher, boss of PR agency Ketchum, and Tom Hauser, chief creative officer at German agency Jung von Matt.

Australia has missed out in print, cyber and media in the Young Lions so far this week. The winners of the film Young Lions will be announced on Sunday morning, Australian time.
