Baz Luhrmann fronts Samsung short film competition

A campaign launched by technology company Samsung invites people to submit their own short films in a competition to win the opportunity to work with Australian film director Baz Luhrmann.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 initiative – The Shoot – has been launched with an ad featuring an invitation from Luhrmann to enter the competition.

Luhrman has directed films including Strictly ballroom, Australia and The Great Gatsby.

From the entries ten winners will be selected to work with Luhrmann and other professionals on a short film that will premiere at the Sydney Opera House on the 40th anniversary of the building next month. Samsung is a corporate sponsor of the SOH.

The Shoot has been launched in partnership with the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and full details are available on The Shoot website.
