Bazaarvoice appoints new APAC leadership to fuel growth

Bazaarvoice, a network connecting brands and retailers to voices of consumers, has announced Zach Hotchkiss as the company’s vice president of Asia Pacific operations.

The announcement:

Bazaarvoice, Inc. (Nasdaq: BV), the network connecting brands and retailers to the authentic voices of consumers wherever they shop, today announced that Zach Hotchkiss has been appointed as the company’s vice president of Asia Pacific operations, based in Sydney, and Wee Kwang Keh has joined the company as regional vice president, based in Singapore. In his new role, Hotchkiss is responsible for the acquisition, growth, and retention of Bazaarvoice’s client portfolio throughout the APAC region, as well as operational leadership of the company’s offices in Australia and Singapore. Keh is responsible for the management and acquisition of key prospects, retailers, and clients in Southeast Asia, as well as the development of the region’s market strategy.

“I am very excited about the business opportunities for Bazaarvoice to play a leadership role affecting e-commerce and the consumer experience throughout Australasia,” commented Hotchkiss. “There’s a buoyant market for digital marketing platforms that can help businesses create exceptional customer experiences at all touchpoints along the consumer’s path to purchase. Our goal is to become a pivotal part of our client’s success by helping them more effectively engage consumers and derive real-world, actionable insights that help to improve products and services, increase sales, and promote brand advocacy and loyalty.”

Hotchkiss’ appointment reflects Bazaarvoice’s commitment to build on its momentum in Australia, New Zealand, and other key Asia Pacific markets. Bazaarvoice clients in the region include Stayz, the number one holiday rental website in Australia, which implemented Bazaarvoice Conversations and achieved a 291% lift in inquiries from visitors who interacted with reviews. Other regional brands, like adventure clothing and equipment retailer Kathmandu, work with Bazaarvoice for ratings and reviews as a way to increase organic search rankings for their site, encourage customers as online brand sales agents, inform future design decisions, and increase sales.

“The Asia Pacific region presents a significant growth opportunity for Bazaarvoice and Zach’s leadership will play a key part in our regional growth story,” said Kelly Connery, chief revenue officer at Bazaarvoice. “In particular, his ability to deliver results and work effectively with both customers and sales teams will be an invaluable asset in broadening the reach of our network across market segments. Those who have worked with Zach in North America know that we couldn’t have chosen a better leader to build a first-class organization that will develop our business and ensure that our clients receive exceptional products and services to support their business needs.”

Since joining Bazaarvoice in 2006, Hotchkiss has provided critical leadership in strengthening and aggressively growing the company’s mid-market and enterprise client portfolio. He most recently served as vice president of sales with responsibility for the North America mid-market portfolio, and his tenure has also included responsibility for hiring, training, and management of the company’s Market Development team for North America.

Keh brings more than 15 years of IT industry experience to Bazaarvoice, including management and company leadership roles at Cisco Systems, Visa, and 3Com (acquired by HP) in which he interfaced with sales operations, channels and distribution, marketing, and finance. Immediately prior to joining Bazaarvoice, Keh served as senior regional manager, APAC Commercial Sales at Cisco Systems, where he held a variety of other sales positions that included responsibility for global, mid-enterprise, and commercial Asia-Pacific market segments.
