BBC Worldwide appoints Tim Christlieb as programming and production head

BBC Worldwide Australia has appointed Tim Christlieb as head of programming and production for BBC Worldwide Channels, Australasia.

Christlieb joins from the UK-based BBC Worldwide Channels where he was head of scheduling for the Nordics and Italy.

He will report to Deirdre Brennan, GM/director of BBC Worldwide channels and brand services. Brennan said: “Tim joins the Australasian team with a proven track record of programming success across the BBC Worldwide Channels in Italy and the Nordic region, an extremely diverse territory. We are so pleased that Tim will head up our team and look forward to future successes with our wide ranging channels portfolio in this territory.”

Christlieb will work across five channels, UKTV, BBC Knowledge, CBeebies, and UKTV NZ and BBC Knowledge in New Zealand.

Christlieb said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining such a successful team and incredibly excited about contributing to the continued growth of the BBC Worldwide portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.”

Prior to his role at BBC Worldwide in the UK he held channel management and scheduling roles with MTV Europe, GTV, Sony/Disney and NBC Universal’s Sci-fi channel UK.

His appointment begins in June.
