Bear Grylls to promote Nissan X-Trail

Adventurer Bear Grylls is to be the new face of the Nissan X-Trail as part of a 12 month sponsorship deal across Asia Pacific.  

The announcement:

Sydney, 7 March, 2011 – Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, a unit of the number one non-fiction media company Discovery Communications, today announced a 12 month exclusive partnership in the auto-category with the Nissan Motor Company. To promote the Nissan X-Trail, Bear Grylls of Discovery Channel’s hit series MAN VS WILD will be featured in a variety of campaign activities.

Mandy Pattinson, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Australia and New Zealand, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific said, “This unprecedented partnership is a natural fit as Bear Grylls, who is extremely popular with our Australian audience, is the very embodiment of the Nissan X-Trail’s brand attributes. Through his series MAN VS WILD, Bear captures the spirit of exploration, endurance, adventure, and the strength of the human spirit.”

Bear Grylls is currently in Australia to launch the Australian episodes of Discovery Channel’s MAN VS WILD, where he ventured into some of the world’s most treacherous terrain in the Northern Territory and the Torres Strait. These episodes will premiere in Australia exclusively on Discovery Channel Wednesday March 9 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm (AEDT).
