Ben Mulcahy appointed to lead OMG Diverse, replacing Harry Jayaweera

Omnicom Media Group – the holding company responsible for media agencies including OMD and PHD – has recruited the founder of Pink Publishing Group, Ben Mulcahy, to replace Hiranthi (Harry) Jayaweera as head of OMG Diverse.

OMG Diverse says is specialises in multicultural media solutions “to help brands reach Australia’s diverse community audiences including CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse), Indigenous and LGBTI”.

Ben Mulcahy founded Pink Media in 2011

Mulcahy founded Pink Media Group in 2011 to advise advertisers and agencies on strategies to reach Australia’s gay and lesbian audience.

Prior to founding Pink Media Group, Mulcahy worked with local companies Sponsorship HQ and Big Mobile in business development roles after returning from the UK where he’d worked with JC Decaux and Titan Outdoor.

Jayaweera was appointed to lead OMG Diverse in 2014.

Omnicom Media Group have announced the appointment of Ben Mulcahy, founder of Pink Media Group, as National Head of OMG Diverse.

OMG Diverse was created in 2014, to help brands reach Australia’s diverse audiences including CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse), Indigenous and LGBTI. Since its inception, OMG Diverse have uncovered invaluable insights for clients that include; Telstra, Qantas, Estee Lauder Companies, Bayer, NSW Government, Village Roadshow, 7 Eleven and HP.

Ben joins OMG with over 20 years of industry experience, with roles at JCDecaux, Big Mobile and most recently running his own media and communications agency, Pink Media Group, which connects brands with Australia’s LGBTI community. His appointment is part of a revitalisation of the OMG Diverse offering.

Ben will be responsible for continuing the strong growth delivered by this specialist unit across all relevant Omnicom Group clients and agencies including OMD, PHD and Annalect.

The appointment is effective immediately.
