Better Homes & Gardens helps Seven win Friday night

Seven’s Better Homes & Gardens was the most-watched non-news show last night despite only airing in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.

The show pulled in 672,000 viewers across those markets at 7pm, out-rating Nine’s A Current Affair which was watched by 626,000 metro viewers.

Ten’s The Project grabbed 386,000 at 6.30pm, growing to 520,000 at 7pm.

Nine’s 7.30pm NRL which saw the Melbourne Storm take on the Brisbane Broncos had an audience of 510,000 across Sydney and Brisbane.

Also in sport, Seven’s broadcast of the AFL grabbed 452,000 across Melbourne and Adelaide in Melbourne.

In the news battleground, Seven News at 6pm was watched by 997,000, slipping to 916,000 from 6.30pm. Nine News at 6pm had an audience of 842,000, sliding to 798,000.

Seven won the night with an audience share of 21.7%, ahead of Nine’s share of 18.7%. Ten claimed third place with a share of 11.5% while the ABC posted a share of 9.2%.
