Biggest Loser delivers Ten a big finish

Ten had a rare win in the reality wars last night, with the final of The Biggest Loser seeing off Nine’s The Block and Seven’s House Rules.

The Biggest Loser winner announcement rated 1.248m viewers, according to overnight metro ratings from OzTAM. it was third for the night, behind Nine News and Seven news in all people, and top for the night in the key advertising demographic of 25-54.

Nien’s The Block rated 1.244m and Seven’s House Rules 908,000.

Meanwhile, the rest of The Biggest Loser show rated 1.108m.

It was a bad night for Nine’s Celebrity Apprentice which has seen its audience begin to drift away. Last night’s two parts rated 725,000 for the challenge while just 663,000 viewers stuck around for the boardroom showdown.

For Seven, Packed To The Rafters rated 1.048m.

ABC1’s Q&A special with Bill Gates rated 669,000.

In the morning battle, Nine’s Today (359,000) beat Seven’s Sunrise (334,000). The battle was even closer in mid-mornings with Seven’s The Morning Show (152,000) just beating Nine’s Mornings (149,000).
