Biggest Loser tops 1m for Ten
The mini revival in Ten’s ratings fortunes continued on Monday night with The Biggest Loser breaking through the million audience mark – one of the few times the network has achieved the number this year.
The Biggest Loser: Next Generation rated 1.014m, according to preliminary overnight metro ratings from OzTAM. The relatively high number for Ten was helped by Nine and Seven resting their big guns until after the Easter non ratings period ends. The Biggest Loser was also the biggest show of the night among the 18-49 demographic.
The most watched program of Monday was Seven News, which rated 1.2m. Revenge, also on Seven, rated 1.072m. Nine’s best performer show was Nine News, which rated 1.197m.
The only other program viewed by more than a million metro viewers was ABC News which rated 1.004m.
Despite the respectable audience for The Biggest Loser, Ten still finished fourth behind ABC1 for audience share. Seven was top with 21.4 oer cent, followed by Nine on 16.7 per cent. Then came ABC1, just behind on 16.6 per cent. Ten’s share was 15 per cent.

Mini revival? There was no competition. All the ratings prove is that people will watch Biggest Loser when nothing else is on.

Very true BTG — and even then they prefer the news. And if Ten can roll out the “big guns” and still only come fourth overall, it’s not a great sign. The real message is that having three commercial FTA networks is not sustainable.
