Bike and scooter sharing company Lime names Clancy Dobbyn as APAC communications manager

Electric scooter and bicycle sharing company Lime has appointed Clancy Dobbyn as APAC communications manager.

Dobbyn’s appointment marks the expansion of the company’s leadership team in the region as it prepares to strengthen its presence in Australian cities.

Previously, Dobbyn was a water unit manager and media manager for the Wurundjeri Land Council.

In his new role, Dobbyn will be responsible for sharing the Lime story with an APAC communications strategy and amplifying the benefits of the service.

Dobbyn said of his new role: “I’m thrilled to join such an impressive team, and am eager to help share the story of how Lime is enhancing communities and lives across the region.

“As the global leader in micromobility, founded on a vision of providing a more sustainable, affordable and accessible way to get around our increasingly congested cities, I’m energised to work with a company whose mission I share and am so deeply passionate about.”

Lime regional director of government strategy and policy, Mitchell Price, said: “Clancy has already demonstrated the value he can bring to Lime’s APAC team through offering a strong and strategic vision and respected leadership skills. Clancy’s passion and dedication to transforming communities will be instrumental to Lime’s success.”

Lime has also announced it has reappointed KDPR as its public relations agency in Australia.

Bike sharing companies have had a spate of negative headlines in recent years for issues including pollution (the bikes being vandalised, thrown into waterways, and littering the streets), and obstruction of public land.
