The Block catapults Nine to another weekly ratings win

Australian viewers are continuing to tune into The Block on Nine, with each of the week’s four episodes pulling more than 1m metro viewers and topping the ratings ladder.

The most-watched program of the week was Sunday’s episode (1.571m), followed by Monday’s (1.393m), Wednesday’s (1.225m) and Tuesday’s (1.196m), according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

This, combined with the station’s news and current affairs line-up, helped Nine win the week with a 21.1% audience share. Seven had 18.2%, Ten 14.2%, ABC 12.2% and SBS 4.9%.

So far this year, Nine has won 15 weeks, while Seven has won 18 weeks.

Seven’s most-watched program was Seven News, while Little Big Shots was the station’s most-watched entertainment program, with 882,000.

Viewers also continued to tune in to watch Sophie Monk’s stint at The Bachelorette on Ten, with Thursday’s episode having 993,000 and Wednesday’s 840,000.

The station’s most-watched program of the week however, was Supercars Championship: Bathurst D3 Podium.

Australian Survivor also wrapped up on Ten this week. The winner’s announcement had a metro audience of 787,000, while the main episode had 720,000.

ABC’s most-watched program was Doc Martin with 832,000. Gruen was not far behind with 830,000.

On a network level – including multi-channel offerings such as 7Flix and 9Life – Nine also won the week with a 30.0% audience share, compared to Seven’s 26.7%, Ten’s 19.4%, ABC’s 17.0% and SBS’ 6.9%.
