BMF’s Alex Derwin promoted to executive creative director

Enero Group’s creative agency BMF has promoted its creative director Alex Derwin to the role of executive creative director.

The promotion comes three months after BMF’s executive creative director Cam Blackley departed the agency to join M&C Saatchi as its chief creative officer of both its Melbourne and Sydney offices.

Alex Derwin (ECD), Matt Melhuish (Executive Chairman), Christina Aventi (EPD), Claudia Gallardo (CFO) and Steve McArdle (MD).

Derwin joined BMF in 2015 from his previous stint as a senior copywriter at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne.

He has also spent time at Ogilvy & Mather, Publicis and The Monkeys.

Steve McArdle, managing director at BMF, said in a statement: “Alex has been the Creative Director behind a huge amount of the BMF work that’s dominated the effectiveness awards and been creatively celebrated over the last three years.

“We’re delighted that, after a three month recruitment process involving some outstanding candidates, we’re able to recognise one of our own for the ECD job.”

“Looking around the agency you see so much talent, so much potential, but most importantly, so many lovely human beings. We’ve got one of the best creative offerings in the country, and with creative leaders like Jen and Ant by my side, we’re well equipped to kick-on and get even better with every piece of work that we make,” Derwin added.
