Bob Mackintosh resurfaces as R/GA’s new regional ECD
Former executive creative director of Host Sydney Bob Mackintosh has been named R/GA’s new VP executive creative director for Asia Pacific.
Mackintosh left Host after 11 years in November last year.
According to his LinkedIn, he has since been freelancing as an executive creative director for R/GA Shanghai.
In his new role at R/GA, Mackintosh will be based in Sydney but working across the Singapore, Shanghai and Tokyo offices.
Mackintosh has worked on campaigns including Coca-Cola, Lego, Lion Nathan, IKEA, Virgin Mobile and Air New Zealand.
Jim Moffatt, EVP MD at R/GA, said in a statement: “Bob epitomises the R/GA ethos – passionate about technology and storytelling in equal measure, and synonymous with work that brings the two together.
“He is the name consistently behind campaigns that create culture, rather than borrowing from it,” he said.
Creative director Robert Chalmers has also been promoted to the role of joint ECD of R/GA Sydney.
Chalmers will work with ECD Hamish Stewart.
Chalmers said: “Our clients are facing disruptions forcing them to reevaluate the type of work they need and so now more than ever they are seeking ideas at the intersection of communication and experiences.”
amazing how top heavy RGA is with creative leadership, must have some fat retainers in place to cover that overhead.
