Boston Consulting Group shares new Perth office

Boston Consulting Group has set up shop in Perth’s QV1, expanding its Western Australian service capabilities.

The announcement:

Boston Consulting Group (BCG), is pleased to announce that it has moved to Perth’s premier office tower at the QV1. The new, larger and state-of-the-art office reinforces BCG’s commitment to Western Australia and expanding its capabilities to better serve clients in the region.

Last night an official opening event was held where clients, alumni and current team members were invited to celebrate this exciting new chapter for BCG in Perth.

“Western Australia is globally recognized for its strength in natural resources and its growing leadership in innovation and technology. Our new office reflects BCG’s deepening commitment to the state, enabling us to work even more closely with clients on their most critical challenges,” said Neeraj Aggarwal, Asia Pacific chair, Boston Consulting Group. “We’re excited to bring a full suite of services and cutting-edge technologies to support WA’s continued global impact.”

BCG’s journey in Perth began in 2010 with a small team who relocated from Sydney, Melbourne, New Zealand, and Germany. Their first office, opened in 2011, had a capacity for just 15 people, which was expected to take time to fill.

“As a business, we recognised that we needed a permanent presence in Perth,” said managing director and partner Matthew Leach, one of the original team. The persistence of both that team and a few people who committed to fly to Perth each week to build the business laid the foundation for where we are today.”

In 2011, BCG won a major program of work with one of the large miners, which saw over 80 people temporarily move to Perth or transiting through on a regular basis. The influx forced BCG to expand into an additional office space before relocating to 108 St Georges Terrace in 2013, where it remained for the next 12 years.

Today, BCG has around 50 people permanently based in Perth, with many more flying in weekly to support client projects. The team has expanded from one local Partner to six and has become a hub for mining and oil and gas expertise, as well as AI through its local BCG X footprint.

Mr Leach added, “Our move to QV1 is a milestone in BCG’s journey in Perth. It reflects not just our growth, but our deep commitment to Western Australia. With our new office, we are creating an environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and flexibility—essential for solving our clients’ most complex challenges.”

The move to QV1 represents the next chapter in BCG’s Perth story. The new 1,350 sqm office reflects the firm’s aspiration to significantly grow its team over the next five years. With a state-of-the-art office fit-out, BCG aims to make Perth a ‘destination office’ within the firm, attracting both new talent and existing BCG professionals from around the world.
