Box Office: The Fall Guy knocks Kung Fu Panda off top spot
The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, has debuted in the top spot at the Australian box office, bringing in $3.6 million in its opening weekend, and knocking off last week’s #1, Kung Fu Panda 4.
Kung Fu Panda 4 took $1.59 million in its fifth week of release, surpassing $22 million at the Aussie box office.
This weekend’s number three, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, brought in an extra $814,000 in its fifth week, reaching $17.84 million.
Zendaya’s tennis film Challengers came in at number four with $725,000 in its second week, while Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire took in $593,000 to be the week’s fifth-top film – bringing its total Australian box office to $12.45 million.
The national box office was $10.6 million for the weekend, up 9% on the prior week. The top ten movies accounted for just under 85% of the total weekend box office.
