BP celebrates 100 years in Australia with app-centred WPP campaign

To celebrate its 100 years in Australia, BP has launched an integrated campaign based around an app offering prizes to players.

Created by WPP’s Team Energy, ‘The Great Aussie BP Run’ campaign featuring the arcade style app will run across TV, outdoor, radio, social and point of sale.

Team Energy, a dedicated unit created specifically to manage BP account in 2018, combined the resources of WPP agencies including Ogilvy, Geometry, Millipede and Mindshare.

At the centre of the campaign is an Australian arcade-style app, where customers can win prizes in game and redeem them at BP stores nationwide. It has been launched nationally, supported by a TVC, plus Outdoor, Radio, Social and POS.

The app has been downloaded more than 120,000 times since its May 9 launch with over 50,000 players winning prizes to date. The competition closes on July 3.
