Brisbane radio ratings: Howson tops breakfast as HitFM builds strongly on back of drive

Brisbane total peopleABC breakfast host Spencer Howson climbed back to the top rating radio program in Brisbane breakfast in the latest GfK ratings survey, reclaiming the title from Nova’s Kip Wightman and David Lutteral ‘Kip & Luttsy’ who claimed the title back in August.

The result came in a survey which showed Southern Cross Austereo’s Hit105.3 posting solid gains (up a 1.2 share in people 10+) a result driven off the back off a 1.7 per cent boost in breakfast and in particular a 2.9 per cent increase drive in what was the first full survey for Hamish and Andy, following their return in July.

The result sees Nova’s Kate, Tim and Marty lose the drive title in the city falling, a massive 3.5 share points in one survey, to a third position with a 12.4 per cent share while Hamish and Andy are now within a 0.5 share of toppling KiisFM’s Hughesy and Kate in the drive slot with a 13.0 and 13.5 share respectively.

Meanwhile the growth of Sydney shock jocks Alan Jones and Ray Hadley appeared to slow, compared with previous surveys, in Brisbane with 4BC breakfast up a 0.1 share and down 0.2 share in mornings.
