Brisbane radio ratings: Nova106.9 extends lead

dmg Radio Australia’s Nova106.9 has extended its lead in the Brisbane market with a station best share of 14.3%.

The win comes as ARN’s 97.3FM, which last survey was a close second, fell from 12.1% to 10.6%.

Nova’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy jumped from 11.7% to 14% share of the breakfast audience, well ahead of Southern Cross Austereo’s B105’s Labby Stav & Abby on 10.7%, which also saw a lift from 10% last book.

Paul Jackson, group program director of dmg Radio said: “We’ve had a great card in Brisbane, utterly magnificent. From breakfast to drive, the station is beyond engaging and in amongst the listeners.”

Across the weekday, Nova’s numbers lifted dramatically. In Mornings, Cat at 9am-1pm is up from 13.1% to 16.4%, while Digby Gillings at 1-4pm had similar numbers lifting from 13.6% to 16.6%, both overtaking Triple M for top spot. At drive, Meshel, Tim and Marty from 4-6pm and the Fitzy and Wippa 6-7pm hour increased from 15.2% to 16.9%.

In the Monday to Sunday demo, B105fm was close behind 97.3FM on 10.4% share followed by Triple M on 9.2%, down from 11.6%. ABC’s youth station Triple J stayed static on 6.8%.

In the commercial AM market, 4BH rose from 5.9% to 6.1% as rival 4BC also rose slightly to 6.1% from 6%.

ABC612 was top AM station with an 11.3% share.
