British fashion and lifestyle magazine i-D relaunches video driven site

Vice Media has relaunched online magazine i-D in Australia and New Zealand this week targeting fashion, music, film and lifestyle, with an emphasis on emerging trends and upcoming talent.

Last night, iconic British fashion and lifestyle magazine i-D launched its re-imagined online presence i-D.co in Australia and New Zealand with an exclusive cocktail and screening event at Sydney’s Golden Age Cinema & Bar.

The event was attended by fashion, film, music and art world notables including Kimbra, Emma Lung, Dion Lee, Sophie Lowe, Lucy Folk, Ruby Jean Wilson, Elke Kramer, Emma Mulholland, Jedda Daisy Culley & Caroline Sundt Wells (Desert Designs), Eva Galambos, Margaret Zhang (Shine By Three), Darren Luk (Boy Moments) and more.

Taking in musical performances from Melbourne’s Banoffee and Sydney’s Pelvis, with Patron cocktails in hand, guests viewed a selection of films from the innovative, video-driven site curated by UK editor, Holly Shackleton, including the stunning A-Z of Beauty, an A-Z of i-D Cover Stars including Australian Models Miranda Kerr, Julia Nobis and Stephanie Joy Field, a film starring Catherine McNeil and a fashion story featuring an iconic shoot with New Zealand’s Holly Rose Emery.

i-D Australia will follow in the tradition of profiling the most captivating personalities in fashion and culture; examining the intersection of fashion and music, film and design; and championing up-and-coming talent and emerging trends in our part of the world.

Local i-D.co debut content includes:
• A-Z of Beauty video featuring 26 top models including: Stephanie Joy Field and Holly Rose Emery
• Model Mother Tongue video with Catherine McNeil – educating us about the finer points of Australian culture
• Holly Rose Emery shoot – + interview
• Interviews with the Australian team’s favourite designers, young stars, artists and musicians including: Kylie Minogue, Verner, ffiXXed, Desert Designs, Sky Ferreira, Early Woman, Isabelle Cornish and more
• Top 5s including submissions from Misha Hollenbach (P.A.M) – and Pet Shop Girls

The revamped website debuted in London and New York with an exclusive worldwide premiere of M.I.A’s Video for Y.A.L.A in collaboration with KENZO. Additional highlights included an iconic A-Z of Wink video by Jeremie Rozan, which brought i-D’s iconic cover winks to life, a spotlight on Rick Owens by Nabil and an interview with Dior head designer Kris Van Assche.

i-D’s online launch is executed in collaboration with VICE Media, which acquired the publication in December 2012. VICE is utilising its worldwide network and resources to help drive i-D’s aesthetic into the global digital sphere.
