Broadsheet Media has strengthened its sales team with two new appointments. Matt Phillips has been promoted to senior sales manager from his current role as Melbourne sales manager, and Claire Booth has been hired as a senior sales manager based in Sydney.

Matt began with Broadsheet’s former external sales agency Rockwell Media in 2015, where he progressed from advertising sales executive to advertising sales manager, before moving in-house as Broadsheet’s Melbourne sales manager in mid-2018.

He has been integral to the commercial growth Broadsheet has seen in recent years and looks forward to continuing this trajectory for the company.

“I’m so excited to be taking on this next step and the opportunity to work even more closely with the amazingly talented people at Broadsheet,” says Matt. “It’s been amazing to see how far our commercial offering has come and the real-world results we have created. I’m really looking forward to continuing to grow the Broadsheet brand across Australia and producing world-class branded partnerships for our valued clients.”

Claire joins Broadsheet from her previous role as senior content partnerships manager at The Story Lab. With seven years of industry experience within agency environments, Claire specialises in the development of strategic, innovative and meaningful cross-platform partnerships for clients, a speciality she hopes will bolster Broadsheet’s already impressive branded-content offering.

“Throughout my experience, I’ve witnessed firsthand the influence Broadsheet has with its readers, and in turn the positive impact this delivers for its advertising partners,” says Claire.

“I’ve always been passionate about developing meaningful partnerships, so I’m thrilled to join the Broadsheet Media team and look forward to
leading the development of great work for our clients and the business in Sydney.”

The news comes after Broadsheet was shortlisted in both the “Branded Content Studio of the Year” and “Small Publishing Company of the Year” categories at the 2019 Mumbrella Publish Awards.

As senior sales managers, Claire and Matt will be responsible for developing and driving new and existing brand partnerships which deliver market-leading content solutions for Broadsheet clients in Sydney and Melbourne respectively.

Broadsheet’s national sales director Christina Voss is excited to announce the new appointments: “We’re thrilled to have Claire starting with us in Sydney with a wealth of experience in branded content and partnerships from her time at Story Lab. We’re equally thrilled to be promoting Matt in the Melbourne market and see him continue the next phase of his career at Broadsheet.”
