Bureaux Collective hires Jonathan Pangu to lead marketing

Bureaux Collective has hired Jonathan Pangu to lead its marketing.

The annoucement:

The company launched 18 months ago and has pioneered a new model of coffee roasting.

Tim Williams, CEO said “Shared roasting is growing, and cities like New York and Melbourne are leading the way globally. Speciality cafes are finding that once you can access great equipment and support it’s actually easy to roast coffee that uniquely represents them, and it’s cheaper too. We’re delighted with the growth in membership we’re seeing as word spreads, and the appointment of Jonathan will help us accelerate that growth.”

Pangu, who has 20 years’ experience from London and Melbourne, working with brands including Sony, Google, Budweiser and Coca-Cola, is also the founder of Melbourne food project Death to Nuggets.

Pangu said “The industry establishment has done very well out of promoting the idea that roasting coffee is very hard and can only be done by special people. They’ve kept their knowledge secret and used plenty of smoke and mirrors. I love the energy that Tim and the team have for shaking things up and making it easy, open and fair. I’m looking forward to helping get our message out there.”

Bureaux currently has 18 members with new cafes trialling each week. A larger roasting space in Duke Street, Abbotsford is opening in the second half of the year.
