Cabcharge undergoes brand refresh to continue driving better travel experiences

Brand makeover includes the launch of a Digital Pass designed to put your travel policy back in business traveller pockets

Sydney, Australia – July 30, 2018 Cabcharge has unveiled a complete rebrand today as it renews its focus on driving better travel experiences with continued payment innovation. This includes the introduction of the new Cabcharge Digital Pass, a digital version of the popular eTICKET. The new Digital Pass is a world-first use of Apple’s value-added service token. It will enable organisations to specify exactly when business trips can be taken and by whom.

With an increased focus on digital, the payment provider is continuing its proud history of delivering better experiences for travellers, drivers and finance teams. Cabcharge was a world-first electronic payment before bank cards were issued in Australia. The latest range of digital solutions continue to lead disruption in the transport industry.

Major clients in sectors as diverse as health, aviation, banking, government, construction, media and education count on Cabcharge to help them control spending, reduce admin and improve cost visibility. It’s the preferred choice for 80 per cent of ASX 200 companies. Austereo, the ABC, Clemenger, APN Outdoor and Vision Australia have all participated in a pilot program of the new Digital Pass product.

The new branding – which includes a redesigned Cabcharge Plus travel management portal and overhaul of its products – will be promoted in a digital campaign starting 6 August. Targeting financial decision makers and their teams, the campaign includes a business travel cost tool that calculates potential savings for businesses that transition from other methods of business travel to Cabcharge.

“Cabcharge has been helping Australian businesses move people for more than 40 years,” said Cabcharge CEO, Andrew Skelton, says. “We have driven the evolution of the taxi industry through our digital payment solutions, adding high-tech communications networks and operating the largest taxi fleet in Australia.”

A recent research study, conducted by Cabcharge, suggests that many Australian businesses are still relying on outdated processes to manage business travel, which is ultimately costing them money.

“This rebrand is the latest step in our commitment to developing solutions that deliver certainty for companies focused on cost control and flexibility for those more interested in providing convenience to corporate travellers,” Skelton says.

The Cabcharge Digital Pass will be available on a traveller’s iPhone and can be used in any taxi simply by tapping on the EFTPOS terminal. The Digital Pass is also fully compatible with Apple Wallet and can be downloaded instantly with a single click.

The new branding accompanies the recent rebrand of 13cabs, Cabcharge’s sister company and taxi provider. The 13cabs refresh worked to highlight the importance of the company’s diverse driver network in connecting Australians around the country. It included a completely redesigned app and refreshed vehicle fleet to enhance the customer experience.
