CANBERRA’S MIX 106.3 UNVEILS NEW LOOK FOR 2020
Canberra FM Radio today announces the rebrand of Canberra’s MIX 106.3, integrating the look and feel of the station into Australian Radio Network’s national KIIS Network.
A joint venture between Australian Radio Network and Southern Cross Austereo, MIX 106.3’s adoption of the KIIS Network logo is part of the continued evolution of Canberra’s most popular radio station.
The fresh new look for Mix106.3 reflects the station’s position as a vibrant market-leader with a strong entertainment offering including Canberra’s own Kristen & Nige for Breakfast and the Wilko Show with Courts for the drive home, with Kennedy Molloy from 6pm each weekday.
Of the rebrand MIX 106.3 Canberra Content Director, Rod Cuddihy said: “MIX 106.3 has been part of Canberra life since our inception as 106.3 KIX FM in 1988. As MIX 106.3 has grown alongside Canberra’s evolution into Australia’s most progressive and contemporary city, it only makes sense that our logo does the same.
“The essence of what listeners love about MIX 106.3 remains unchanged but the rebrand has given us an opportunity to look at everything we do with a fresh approach and in so doing continue to create a station specifically for Canberra that is genuine, fun and celebrates everything that Canberran’s love about this incredible city.”
Canberra FM Radio General Manager, Craig Wagstaffsaid “This evolution with the new look and feel for the MIX 106.3 brand is certainly exciting for all of us at the station and something we hope that our audience and commercial partners will also like.”

Don’t understand why all ‘KIIS’ stations don’t get rebranded as KIIS. The dial position is becoming a thing of the past as digital becomes the norm. Do the same as SCA are doing and brand it the same in each state.

This varies by city. While Sydney and Melbourne get the Top 40 KIIS branded stations for the Gen Z, other cities such as Brisbane and Adelaide retain their strong ‘Mix’ formats with the widest variety from the 80s to now. Canberra and Perth are the only stations which predominantly play classic rock. Demographics may differ between geographical markets. For instance, Brisbane Gen Z listeners will end up listening to Top 40 stations such as hit105 and Nova 106.9.
