Cannings Purple appoints Astrid Serventy as director of government relations team

WPP-owned public relations firm Cannings Purple has appointed Astrid Serventy as director of its government relations team.

L to R: Karen Brown, Astrid Serventy, Molly Cooke and Richard Harris

Serventy has worked for Cannings Purple for over three years, starting in 2013 as an account manager and most recently working as an associate director.

Prior to this she was a policy advisor to the Australian Government for four years.

Richard Harris, Cannings Purple director, said in a statement: “Many clients are very experienced in their industry but know their limitations when it comes to engaging positively with government – whether that be at a state, federal or local level.

“Ms Serventy’s experience in government, communications and journalism means she is able to work with organisations to develop strategy and influential messaging and bring our clients and government together on key issues,” he said.

The WA public relations agency has also promoted Molly Cooke to government relations and corporate affairs consultant.

Cooke was previously a consultant at the agency, starting in September last year.

“We are very excited to be able to continue to grow our government relations team,” Harris said.

“Our advisers have a wide range of industry, government and community sector experience which provides great value to our clients.”
