Celebrity Apprentice finale down on last year
Last night’s finale of Celebrity Apprentice saw a big drop in the ratings on last season’s final episode, possibly due to the winner being published on Nine’s website a day early accidentally.
Time-coded over three episodes, the series’ top episode was the seventh highest rating show for the night.
With just over 1m metro viewers, Celebrity Apprentice – Winner Announced took 1.036m, according to preliminary metro results from OzTam.
The finale was down by nearly 0.6m on last year’s finale when 1.6m viewers tuned in to see comedian Julia Morris win.
News of this year’s winner Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson published briefly on Nine’s website on Tuesday night could be a reason for the drop in ratings.
Ben Watts, head of TV and video at ninemsn said: “A video clip showing the winner of tonight’s Celebrity Apprentice season final was accidentally published on the website late last night.”
The other two episodes from the series to air last night, The Boardroom and The Challenge placed 11th and 12th respectively on 0.901m and 0.837m viewers.
While Seven News won the night on 1.369m, followed by Nine News on 1.24m and Today Tonight on 1.174m, Nine’s The Block was the highest rating non-news or current affairs show in fourth place on 1.104m followed by Australia’s Got Talent on 1.072m.
Ten’s top show was Masterchef Australia, under 1m, on 0.933m, behind ABC News on 0.951m.

So, Dicko wins a show called The Apprentice. The show is all about climbing the corporate ladder.
Dicko is a corporate executive, so much so that he became famous for it!
Isn’t that a little bit of an unfair advantage? That’s like Mr Bouris having a go at winning, isn’t it?
Sadly I watched Celebrity Apprentice (the Mrs likes it) and must admit that Dicko is a very likeable bloke indeed. He made a mistake hosting Can of Worms. I didn’t mind him as the host, I felt the guests were awful(.)
What is next for Dicko?
– Panto would be awesome!! Why isn’t Panto big in Oz?
– I think Dicko would make an great landlord. How about having a bash behind the bar in The Lord Dudley Eastern Sydney..?
– I would love to see Dicko in Home and Away! He could be cast as an old Foster child of Tom and Pippa’s returning after 30 years….. h’mmm?

thank goodness that dribble is over

Interesting thing will be next year, if the show returns, when contestants ring up looking for donations from the many companies that were expecting some sort of acknowledgement for their $30,000 cheque (in the case of Jenny Craig)…
