Change of guard for senior marketers at Schweppes

SchweppesSchweppes’s marketing and strategy head Darryn Wallace has departed the soft drink brand following a reorganisation, after almost three years in the role.

A spokeswoman for Schweppes, which makes a range of soft drinks as well as Cottees, Coolridge and Solo, confirmed the departure and also that Wallace’s marketing responsibilities were now being handled by Troy McKinna, general manager of marketing.

“Darryn left Schweppes in February as a result of an internal reorganisation.  The role of strategy director is no longer part of our organisation structure,” said the Schweppes spokeswoman.

“(His) marketing responsibilities have been taken on by Troy McKinna.”

McKinna was previously head of brand marketing at Schweppes and had been with the company since 2011. He has previously held roles for Snickers and Twix and prior to that Nielsen.

Schweppes’ agencies include media agency Carat and GPY&R Melbourne as the lead creative. Other agencies on the roster are The Royals, Icon.PR, Life Lounge Agency and Traffik.
