CHEP duo joins growing contingent at Howatson + Company as ECDs

Howatson + Company has hired Richard Shaw and Jeremy Hogg as executive creative directors from founder and CEO, Chris Howatson’s former agency, CHEP Network.

Shaw and Hogg join Gavin Chimes as ECDs at the agency, making up an all ex-CHEP trio, with Chimes joining the agency last May.

New-start at the agency in the chief creative officer role, Levi Slavin said: “If you’ve come across Rich and Jez in their previous roles at CHEP, DDB, Clems Melbourne, Marcel or The Monkeys you’ll know they’re super smart, very talented, quite tall, and truly lovely.”

The duo join a growing number of former CHEP Network staffers at the independent, with managing director, Renee Hyde, head of production, Holly Alexander, and chief data and technology officer, Hoang Nguyen all moving into senior roles.

“At Howatson+Company we have a commitment to very senior talent, on the tools,” continued Slavin. “It means our clients benefit from creatives with deep experience, and the confidence to apply creativity to its most powerful effect. We’re delighted that Rich and Jez have joined with Gav, to maintain our philosophy and standard to our growing client list.”

Slavin took up his new role at the start of the year

At CHE Proximity (now CHEP Network), the pair lead creative output across several accounts including Samsung and award-winning work for IVF client, Genea. Their creative remit included oversight across CX, media, tech, data, social, retail, brand and more.

The pair commented on joining some of their past colleagues: “We’ve had the good fortune to work with a whole bunch of people at Howatson+Company before. We couldn’t be more excited to be reunited with such remarkably clever and lovely humans. Add to that getting to work with all new faces like Levi and it feels like the sky is the limit.”

Chimes added: “There are no better creative partners than Rich and Jez. They care fiercely, which makes them perfect for Howatson + Co.”

Current clients at the agency include Belong, Allianz, Maurice Blackburn, and Plenti.

The agency was launched at the start of last year, rebranding after founding and naming partner, Ant White left the agency, to Howatson + Company, keeping hold of all of its clients.
