Chrissie, Sam & Browny to exit Nova’s Melbourne breakfast program

Nova Entertainment has confirmed Nova 100’s breakfast show in Melbourne, Chrissie, Sam & Browny, is coming to an end after seven years, with 2 December being the trio’s final show.

Chrissie Swan will take on a new role with the Nova Network, with further details revealed soon, while Sam Pang and Jonathan ‘Browny’ Brown will no longer have ongoing roles with Nova after December.

Nova Entertainment said the trio’s replacement will be announced in due course.

In the latest GFK radio ratings, the show came third in share within the breakfast slot, gaining grounds compared to the same period last year.

Peter Charlton, Nova Entertainment CEO said, “Chrissie, Sam & Browny are talented broadcasters with a unique chemistry that has seen them engage with and endear themselves to their listeners.

“We are so proud of the success they have achieved over the past seven years. They’re leaving at the top of their game and we wish them well for what comes next for them, both inside and outside of Nova Entertainment.”

Swan said, “I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved professionally and personally since we first met in 2015 – especially the last few years as we all kept each other afloat during the pandemic.

“I’m thrilled to now put a bow on the absolute gift of the Chrissie, Sam & Browny experience and am looking forward to a new adventure with Nova.”

Pang said, “I would especially like to thank the listeners for their support. It has been a wonderful experience. I’ve made some life-long friends and feel very lucky to have worked with such an amazing team.”

Brown said: “When the opportunity presented itself to work alongside Chrissie, Sam and Deano seven years ago it cemented my family’s decision to make the move to Melbourne and start a new chapter post-footy. I’ve shared some life-changing moments with our listeners and the team have become like family to me.”
