Classic Rock 91.5FM debuts AFL show this week

A new AFL sports show will debut on Classic Rock 91.5 FM this Friday hosted by former players Leigh Colbert and Scott Cummings.

The announcement:

Former AFL stars Leigh Colbert and Scott Cummings will co-host 1st Choice Liquor Footy Shout, a new AFL sports show premiering on Classic Rock 91.5FM on Friday 25 March at 5pm.

The show will broadcast live to Melbourne on Friday nights from 5pm to 6pm. Leigh and Scott will look at the week that was in AFL, discuss topical issues that arise throughout the week, the upcoming games and will touch on other sports that are important to Melbourne listeners.

Leigh Colbert joined Geelong as a midfielder in 1993 and rose through the ranks to become Captain in 1999. When he joined North Melbourne in 2000 he changed his game to become one of the most courageous defenders. After over 200 games he hung up the boots in 2005 and turned his attention to media work.

Leigh said, “I’m thrilled for the chance to work alongside Scott at Classic Rock. He has a passion and understanding for the game and I can’t wait to spend Friday evenings talking footy with one of the great characters in the game’s history.”

Scott Cummings was one of the dominant forwards in AFL through the 1990s and early 2000s. He debuted for Essendon in 1994 and won the Coleman Medal in 1999 at West Coast Eagles by booting a career best of 95 goals for the season. After finishing his career at Collingwood in 2002, he became a respected football analyst on radio and TV.

Scott said, “Everyone loves Colby, including me, I just hope I can get a word in while he wins the hearts.”

Sam Thompson, General Manager Classic Rock 91.5FM said, “We are excited to have Leigh and Scott host Classic Rock’s first dedicated footy show. Accomplished AFL players and experienced media commentators, the guys have a distinctive style that we are sure will resonate with our listeners.”
