Clems’ Paul Reardon joins Whybins Melbourne as ECD

Whybin\TBWA\Melbourne has appointed Paul Reardon from Clemenger BBDO Melbourne to fill a new role of executive creative director.

Reardon is the second heavyweight creative Whybins has poached from Clems recently, long-serving Damian Royce having joined as digital creative director last month.

The appointment will mean more creative firepower for new accounts such as ANZ, and more cover for chairman and regional ECD Scott Whybin.

Whybin has hinted that he may appoint another ECD to work alongside Reardon to mirror the creative joint-ECD structure of the Sydney office.

Whybin noted: “Paul is quite a unique individual.  He’s not just great creatively, but he has also been blessed with real leadership qualities.  His potential in this new role is exciting and we couldn’t be happier about his arrival.”

He added: “We may look for a partner for Paul, as we’ve had great success with a joint ECD structure in our Sydney office. But that’s something we’ll decide together over the following months.”

Reardon’s awards haul includes a radio grand prix at Cannes for a two-minute ad for Snickers in 2007.

His appointment follows the hire of Mark Watkin, who joined as MD from GPY&R Melbourne where he was client services director last month.
