Coles Group former GM of marketing, Yolanda Uys, joins Founders First

Coles Group’s GM of marketing for liquor, Yolanda Uys, has joined craft brewery and distillery investor, Founders First, in the newly created role of marketing and innovation director.

Uys has extensive experience in the sector, holding her role at Coles for almost three years and spending five years prior to that as the head of marketing at Dan Murphy’s. At Coles, she relaunched the Liquorland and Vintage Cellars brands.

Yolanda Uys has departed Coles Group

Uys commences her role at Founders First in early November and will become a member of the business’ executive leadership team, contributing to the execution of its strategic growth agenda.

CEO, Mark Haysman, said: “Yolanda brings a wealth of industry knowledge, experience and diversity having worked not only here in Australia but abroad in South Africa, London, Barcelona and Budapest, building world class brands across both retail and FMCG.

“With Yolanda’s passion for building people and teams, and her proven track record in delivering ambitious marketing strategy outcomes, both in a physical and digital sense, we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.”

Uys said of her appointment: “Being a part of a business that is focussed on helping entrepreneurs and brands with bold ambitions was a key drawcard for me, especially at a time when driving growth back into our local industry is so crucial.

“Australia has some of the world’s most talented craft producers and I can’t wait to help them accelerate their growth and consolidate their brands on a local, national and international stage.

“Coupled with a world class team of highly talented functional experts, under the leadership of Mark and supported by a forward-thinking Board, this is an unmissable opportunity.”
