Coles launch Curtis Stone-fronted iPad app to help ‘feed your family’
Supermarket chain Coles last night launched an app to help customers find and use the food on special at their local outlet.
The ‘Coles Feed Your Family app for iPad’ has been developed in conjunction with celebrity chef and brand ambassador Curtis Stone who helps talk users through the more than 400 recipes provided in the aap.
Coles launched the app last night with a new television commercial, featuring Stone, where the chef promises to: “show you how to use (the specials) in my delicious recipes.”
In recent years Curtis has often been the face of Coles’s ‘feed your family’ campaigns, where the brand tries to highlight affordable ways for consumers to save money on their food purchases.
The app – developed by digital agency Reactive – will also feature free weekly updates on specials available at Coles, and to coincided with the launch Curtis Stone will also host an interactive online cooking show, Cook & Win with Curtis on Monday.

Good work to whomever managed to sell in the costs for this product, which has zero need to be an app. You really should be proud of yourself.

Nothing more patronizing then rich people telling me how to eat for less than $10

Seems perfectly suited to an app to me. Nice work @reactive and @colesonline

@Jase H: Tell me a single function that requires being a native app? A properly designed and built web app or mobile site would more than adequately do the job, be usable on ANY device/browser/phone/etc….. and cost about a 10th of the price. Again, good work whomever managed to sell this in – as the industry is more about money-hungry salesmen than forward thinking problem solvers.

Simple answer really. It could quite easily be both but an app is very easy to access and instantly available. Time to venture out of your small mind mentality and think big buddy.

Ha. You don’t even know what you’re talking about. Funny. All the best.

As a poor media coordinator, this is the greatest thing ever. It tells you what’s on special AND what you can cook with the special.
