Community Engine hires new director of social

Digital company Community Engine  has appointed Stephen Johnson to  director of social.  

The announcement:

January 28th, 2011: Community Engine announced today it had appointed Stephen Johnson as Director of Social. Johnson will lead Community Engine’s Melbourne operation and oversee social media strategy and product innovation for the business nationally. Johnson was formerly Regional Head of Digital Innovation at DRAFTFCB.

Community Engine managing director, Piers Hogarth-Scott, said: “We’re excited to welcome Stephen to the management team. Over the last 12 months we’ve experienced significant demand for our social business and community engagement solutions and Stephen will play a pivitol role in our ongoing expansion.”

Hogarth-Scott added that Community Engine had seen staff numbers double over the last 12 months to a total of 80 people today. It also meant the company was in a recruitment drive to fill a number of new positions including a marketing manager, business development manager, copywriter, database developer, front-end developers, .NET developers and digital project managers.
