Compare the Market’s Aleksandr the Meerkat and Sergei arrive as toys in Australia
Compare the Market’s Aleksandr the Meerkat and sidekick Sergei have arrived in Australia in toy form.
As part of the meerkats’ arrival, a new ad has been released showing Aleksandr flying into Sydney on a helicopter to tell Australians his “big announcement”.
He tells customers that while they’ve been “teased” by outdoor ads, they can now get “cuddly” versions of himself and Sergei.
The toys, which were launched previously in the UK, will be handed to customers who purchase health insurance through the Compare the Market until March.
Abigail Koch, spokesperson from Compare the Market, said Australians can choose either Aleksandr or Sergei when they take out hospital, extras or combined health insurance policy online or through the call centre.
