The “ultimate escalation” here is already pretty much happening in recruitment. Candidates using ChatGPT to write their CVs and cover letters in line with what the ad and job description says, then submitting it to a partially or fully automated Candidate Management System which selects a precious few to put in front of a human for review. Only if you get beyond that stage does the human<>human direct interface spring into life.
