Cricket scores for Fox Sports

Twenty20 cricket has continued to be a ratings winner for subscription TV, with an average audience of 307,000 tuning into Fox Sports for the Saturday’s final between Victoria and South Australia.

The audience was a pay TV record for the short version of the sport, with the game being won by Victoria.

Meanwhile, The Lifestyle Channel will be happy enough with the premiere of Come Dine With Me Australia, which was the fourth most watched pay TV show last week, with an average of 135,000 viewers.

And the summer dominance of the pay channels in homes that subscribe is demonstrated in figures prepared by pay TV industry body ASTRA.

In an analysis of OzTam figures for the year to date – regarded by the free to air players as a non ratings period during which many key programmes are kept off the air – subscription TV accounts for 62.1% of the viewing.

Share of all people, year to date, 6am-midnight, in subscription TV homes only:

  • STV 62.1%
  • Nine 15.2%
  • Seven 10.2%
  • Ten 5.9%
  • ABC 4.5%
  • SBS 1.3%

Across all metro homes, STV’s share falls to 25.5%, and 22.8% in regional homes during the same period.
