David Ormston leaves KWP for CumminsRoss SA creative director role
David Ormston has left KWP after 12 years to take the role of creative director of CumminsRoss South Australia.
His work for KWP included accounts such as RAA, Ultratune, SATC and Coopers.
CumminsRoss CEO Sean Cummins said in a statement: “Talented writers are rare in Australia, let alone the smaller market of South Australia, so to have David join us is fantastic.
“He has been the “voice” of Coopers for many years and his work is intelligent, textured and witty. He is a great addition to our team.”
Prior to KWP Ormston worked for five years as a copywriter at Gerard Industries.
Ormston said in a statement: “I am excited to be part of the dynamic CumminsRoss team that has already established its credentials at a global level and is now ready to make its mark in Adelaide. Our team here is a great blend of experience and enthusiasm. I look forward to working with them in contributing bold, innovative ideas that will set our clients apart.”
CumminsRoss South Australia launched in Adelaide in February 2012 and Cummins has told Mumbrella he plans to launch a New York office in 2014.
Managing director Bronwen Gwynn-Jones said in a statement: “There is no holding us back now, we’re forged and ready for some major announcements in the new year, with several new clients in the wings. We’re building our team in readiness for a huge 2014.”
CumminsRoss Adelaide clients include the SA government, Lion and Hilton Hotels.
Well done crazy legs. KWP’s loss is CumminsRoss’s win.
