Daily Telegraph prints rare afternoon edition to mark Julia Gillard becoming PM
Sydney’s Daily Telegraph has publish a special edition this afernoon covering the dramatic switch of Prime Minister from Kevin Rudd to Julia Gillard.
The special edition also carries coverage of this morning’s Socceroos match with Serbia, which saw the team win but still bow out of the World Cup.
Daily Telegraph editor Garry Linnell said: “By creating this unique special edition, we continue our strong legacy of being Sydney’s first choice for breaking news.”
Sister title The Herald Sun also produced a special edition for Melbourne.
The last tienm that the tele printed a late edition was a 6am special for Barack Obama’s inauguration.
