Dan Krigstein to leave the Growth Distillery

The Growth Distillery’s Dan Krigstein is leaving the insights agency he set up for News Corp almost three years ago.

Krigstein has not yet revealed where he is heading next, and will be working through a transition handover to current deputy Leigh Lavery for the rest of the year.

Prior to his current role, Krigstein held local and global positions at Qantas, 20th Century Fox, and Paramount. He featured in a Mumbrella “Dynamic Duos” article last year — giving an insight into his working style and background — and earlier this year took up the chair of news advocacy body Thinknewsbrands.

Lavery, whose role will be The Growth Distillery’s general manager, worked at the NRL, Southern Cross Austereo, Ninemsn and other media companies before arriving at News Corp five years ago.

“At The Growth Distillery, our mission has always been to challenge conventional thinking and help businesses unlock sustainable growth through deep customer insights,” Lavery said in a press release.

Speaking of Lavery, News Australia client partnerships managing director Lou Barrett said: “His deep understanding of the media landscape, combined with his commercial acumen and passion for innovation, makes him the ideal person to lead The Growth Distillery into its next phase. We’re delighted to recognise his contributions and our continued investment in the talent driving our success.”
