DDB Sydney appoints Priya Patel as managing director
DDB Sydney has appointed Priya Patel as its managing director.
Despite not taking on the CEO title, Patel is replacing Nicole Taylor who departed the agency, along with DDB Sydney’s chief strategy officer Fran Clayton, two months ago to take the role of national CEO for McCann.
Patel joins the agency from David Jones where she was a marketing services creative consultant for 10 months.
“It gives me great pleasure to welcome Priya to the DDB Group in Australia. With extensive brand advertising experience and a proven track record in new business, she is the right person to lead DDB Sydney to continued success into the future,” Andre Little, DDB Australia’s CEO, said in a statement.
Throughout her career Patel has also had stints at Y&R London as its managing director, business director and head of new business.
In 2004, Patel was an account manager at DDB in the United Kingdom.
“I started my career as a grad at DDB London, and I absolutely loved it. Coming back to that DDB culture was a huge drawcard. They look after their people and really grow talent,” she said.
“I firmly believe in the importance of building relationships and teams over time, and that’s something I’m really looking forward to doing at DDB.
“I’m really excited to be joining Andrew and such a talented team, and getting stuck into working on some big, famous accounts,” Patel continued.
DDB Sydney is still in the process of recruiting a chief strategy officer following the departure of Clayton.
