Dettol uses Facebook app to improve hygiene among Indonesian children

Germ-killing product Dettol, voted Australia’s most trusted brand in a Reader’s Digest survey in July, has launched a campaign on Facebook to raise money for children in need in Indonesia.

The campaign, called Helping Hands for Health, deploys a Facebook app that allows users to ‘Raise a Hand’ to the cause by either taking a webcam picture of their own hand, or creating a uniquely designed hand and uploading it to their Facebook page.

For every hand uploaded, Dettol will donate $5 to the cause. The act of uploading one hand will help provide 200 hand washing hygiene kits.

The campaign was developed by Momentum Worldwide.
